Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Teacher TrainingMore and more people of varied ages, abilities and health conditions are turning to yoga to find ease in body and mind. This trend is fueled, in part, by a growing body of research suggesting that yoga may offer relief from a host of ailments—ranging from hypertension and fibromyalgia, to cancer, depression and insomnia. In fact, nearly 14 million Americans, say that a doctor or therapist has recommended yoga to them, according to a study by Harris Interactive Service Bureau.

Yoga instructors need expert training to create practices that are safe and effective for these special populations.

Our goal is to help yoga instructors integrate knowledge gained from modern medicine’s evidence-based science with the ancient wisdom, experience and tradition of Yogic teachings. As an integrative medicine program, we have created a partnership between experienced yoga therapists and Western medical specialists who rely on scientific support to guide choices in practice. Understanding this approach is critical for today’s yoga instructors who are pioneering the art and science of yoga as a recognized and respected therapy in mainstream medicine.
